I have spent more time doing these things in the last few weeks than I have in past couple of months. I have always had the opportunity to do these things but the busyness of “life”, has cause me to be distracted at times. God reminded me that I have and always will have HIM. That HE is the beginning and the end and has always been my source, provider, peace, … just everything. Even with everything or nothing that this world has to offer, I am not to worry because I/ we still have God.
When I go for walks in the morning I notice the birds. I talk to God as I walk, and HE always reminds me that the birds have all that they need. The birds fly to different trees and the ground and there is provision waiting for them. God loves me so much more. My eyes and ears just needs to be open to recognize what God has for me, without worry.
““That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” Matthew 6:25-27 NLT
I walked twice the other day and God showed me a new path/adventure that I would have never found in my busyness. I didn’t think twice about it because I was with my best friends and not alone. It took me back to when I was little and playing with my friends, just being outside without an agenda. This path has always been available to me and I realize that by following HIS safe path, that i am gaining and am exploring a different side of who God says that I am. While I am doing things that appear to be “basic”, it is all that I need.
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33 NLT
Now is the time to get back to basics. Time to be still, listen, and focus on Gods voice, as I know that HE has many good things waiting for our attention and action, in order for us to prosper.
What is one “basic” thing that you can take action in this week?
