God wants to show me MORE that what I see and I want to notice and acknowledge everything that God has for me. As I was walking last week, I noticed a red bird land on the light stand in front of me. It sat long enough for me to take its picture. Birds always remind me of Gods provision and care. Birds remind me of the miner details that God pays attention to. I want to pay attention to details, no matter how small I may think it is. I realize that it is all important when God allows it.
There have been times when I am caught in my own world and have thought that certain situations were fine but found out later that it wasn’t because I missed something. Like one time, when I received an invitation to do something via text in a group chat. I saw it initially but forgot about it without responding. A week or so later, I then sent an invitation to do something via the same group text( wrong move, Smitty!!!). It wasn’t until one of my friends called me and told me that I never answered the first person, that I was aware that I had offended the first person who sent the invitation. I meant no harm but instead of feeling any type of way about it. I prayed and went to God first about it. I then called the person and spoke with them and apologized. God caused this situation to stop before any ill feelings were planted.
““Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’” Matthew 18:15-16 NKJV
The person and I did not have to go to more people to resolve because we were able to communicate the situation, share both perspectives, and I apologized. It opened my eyes to where the relationship could have gone if I allowed my flesh to be in control. I could have lost a friend. This situation also showed me that I have to pay attention to what may seem little detail( like a text).
“And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” Romans 13:11-14 NKJV
I want to always be a light. I will return my text 🙋🏾♀️, take everything in, and I will slow down to catch the details so I do not miss what is important to others.
What are some things that you need to slow down for and pay attention to?
