With the country under a state of emergency, it is hard to get away from the news of the COVID-19 virus. The media has stirred up fear and a state of panic on the people who watch and hear it. You can see the evidence of this when you look at the empty shelves in stores. Look at how people are treating others over toilet paper 🧻 😳🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️.
Let’s refocus!!!! Let’s place everything in perspective of importance.
Prayer is the first thing we should do in times like this. I am glad that Sunday has been declared as a national day of prayer. I am glad that God has allowed me to gather with others in agreement and focus on HIM with payer and fasting.
I went to see my father preach on Sunday night, and it was awesome. He spoke on,“where are you looking”, where is your focus? He spoke of the parable of the 10 virgins and pointed out how our focus, on our assignment in this life, can be the difference between life and death ( physical and/ or eternal).
““Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil. When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. “At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!’
“But the others replied, ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’ “But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’ “But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’ “So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.” Matthew 25:1-6, 9-13 NLT
He spoke on how living for Christ is different than of the world and how we are a people that is set apart. He spoke on a lot of things that caused me to repent and to refocus on Gods assignment and not distractions of this wirkfe ready for what Gods plans are for me.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and we should have faith in this constant.
