What is your fitness routine?
Exercise is very important for your body. Although I am very sore right now due to a leg day ( squats, lots of them..lol), I love the feeling in my body after I come from the gym. I feel accomplished, stronger, energized, and relieved that I did it. It’s amazing how something that can make me feel so good, takes such hard work to start at times. Before even going to the gym, I have to mentally prepare myself and be willing to do it. Fitness helps in all areas of our lives.
This feeling can also go along with eating right, different commitments, and reading the Bible. It wasn’t until I was older that I actually read the Bible completely and retained it. I had to be intentional about it. I set a goal which was to actually do it and I set aside time with God. I listened to or read the scriptures and I was able to reflect back on what those verses meant to me while I was doing it. It was great to know the word in my heart. I was proud of my accomplishment when someone would speak of an uncommon verse or scenario and I actually knew what they were talking about and could add feedback. Being able to absorb God’s word is awesome.
Keep their words always in your heart. Tie them around your neck. Proverbs 6:21
It could be easy to fall into a routine of just reading the Bible to check it off of the box and go along your day, but God wants more from us. God wants our attention. When we willingly give him our time he is able to speak with us in a way that we understand as we grow stronger in hearing his voice. While reading my Bible plan, I allow the Holy Spirit to have his way and guide me daily. I find that the verses that I read are always for a reason to use as a reminder to myself or for others as lessons and/or encouragement.
What is your plan to maintain daily readings of God’s word?
