Trying new things can be scary, interesting, adventurous, and fun. It is cool to learn something after someone has shown you how to do it or when you have read the directions on how to do it. I always want to be willing to learn and try. A couple of days ago, I was playing a video game that I never played before. My boyfriend told me what moves went to which button and I looked at the tutorial quickly and tried to remember what to do. As soon as we pressed start, I only remembered like two moves. Lol 😂.. he showed no mercy… I was not winning the battle at all!!! I panicked and just started hitting all the buttons. There were times when I made some pretty awesome moves but I had no idea how I did them. I lost, time and time again, because I did not take the time to study the moves so that I can remember them when they were not displayed on the screen. While I better with each game, I still had a disadvantage because I chose not to study the tutorial. I know that if I study the moves and practice that that I will get better and better and start to win without even needing to look at the tutorial because it will all be in my head. Victory!!! Mwahahaaaa!!!
We all have the opportunity to study different things that add to our lives. think about it, you study to take a test, practice a routine for a performance, do sound-check to sing, and all these things help strengthen each area.
God also wants us to strengthen our spirits and knowledge and to reminds us to study 📖 the Bible so that we know HIS word and keep it on our hearts so that we know the truth without wavering.
“Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15 NLT
When we carry Gods truth within us, there is nothing that we cannot do. God equips us for all that we have to encounter when we stand on his firm foundation.
“I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me. I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. Arise, O Lord! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked! Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people. Interlude”. Psalms 3:5-8 NLT
Yeah!!!! I’m getting a visual of the verse and the game I was playing. I will get better and work hard at knowing the moves of that game. I will also work even harder to learn more of Gods word and carry it in my heart daily so that I am ready to declare it at all times for Gods glory.
How can you study 📖 Gods word today in order to retain it?
