Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Yesterday’s events that lead to the death of Kobe Bryant and others has ignited a fire of emotions across the world. My initial thought was disbelief and then sadness. I prayed that he and the others had a relationship with God. I prayed that they had a chance to call on Jesus. It is very unexpected news and I pray for extra peace and comfort for the families, for the wives, children, siblings, relatives, and more who are mourning at this time. Him (Kobe Bryant) being a professional basketball player brings more attention to what we all will eventually do, and that is leave this earth. He leaves a great legacy for his family because of the life that he lived and loved. You can see that he cared about growing others because of the projects that he was involved in and the family man that he was.
This is all a reminder that we all are human and need to make the most of each day. It’s easy to say that I will do “this” or “that” when you get older but “older” is not promised to anyone.
13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow a]we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what isyour life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. James 4:13-14
Jesus wants you and I to have a highly productive and impactful life also. He wants you to produce fruit that will live on for generations to come. God wants us to live our lives with purpose. I want to do everything that God created for me. I ask for the wisdom and application in all action that I need to take, to live my most abundant life.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 NLT
God wants us to love, trust, and be obedient to his plan and we all have an opportunity to take action today because we do not know when our last day will be.
We are all a car ride, encounter, heartbeat, just “anything” away from our last breath. Let’s make a decision to live and not just exist.
What change are you making today to live life to the fullest?

Smitty, what a powerful message. You are correct! No day is promised. I prayed the same for Kobe and those who are affected all over the world by sudden and tragic matters. We have to not wait for tomorrow to accept Jesus in to our journey. Jesus has to BE our journey.
Amen!!! Jesus is the reason 😇
