When you say that you trust someone, what does this mean to you?
I believe that trust is believing in someone or something, knowing that they are( it is ) reliable and dependable. I trust God the most. It’s easy to say and I know that a lot of people say that they do, but I really trust God. I trust God because he does not lie, and his love and promises for my life are awesome huge.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.” Jeremiah 17:7 NLT
Trust takes time to build. You have to spend a lot of time with another person and build a relationship with them in order to know who they are and that you can trust them with certain things. Reading the Bible and spending time in prayer is a great way to grow in your relationship with God. God’s word shows us in different ways, how we can trust him.
I have had many adventures in different places and recently, I had a new adventure here, in the town where I live that meant a lot to me. I did something that everyone can do. Have you ever done a trust fall? I just did one for the first time with my boyfriend!!! Like, whoooaaaaa 🤷🏾♀️!!!!! ( lol) So, I was preparing for the small group that I lead at church and wanted to do it as an activity. I had a feeling that the attendees were not going to be down with the thought of this so I asked him to stay before his meeting so that we could pray and I could open up with the demonstration. Wow, wow, wow, It was awesome! When I did it, I didn’t think twice about it and I knew that it was an action that I could take to show him and myself my trust for him. It was so cool to see how I just had to fall back and trust that he wouldn’t let me be harmed. It took time to get to this point of trust with him. I had a peace that he would be there for me and I have this greater peace when I think about how God catches me every time I need him. This activity reminded me of trusting God even more than my trust in man and my own understanding.
God is always with us and catches us when we fall. God reassures us that we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength and that we are more than conquerors.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 NLT
