Last week, I was at work and in a hurry to the ladies room when the Holy Spirit stopped me to speak to a co-worker about how they were doing. We spoke about the usual surface things and for a split second I noticed that God showed me that her face was sad. I didn’t think anything of it, as I was on a mission to the ladies room, so I walked away and the Holy Spirit stopped me and told me “no, go back and talk to her”. I immediately turned around and asked her “what’s really going on, how are you doing, are you ok”? She looked as me with tears in her eyes and showed me that she did not have her wedding ring on her finger. She spoke with me about the trials going on in her family and God allowed me to have the open door to pray with her and give her a big hug 🤗.
When we ask God to have His way in our lives every morning and are obedient, He shines through us. God wants us to rest and be still at times so that we can know that it is Him leading us.
“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” James 1:19-22 NLT
When I have read this passage in the past I have always focused on the “slow to speak and slow to get angry” parts but in this instance, the “quick to listen” jumped out to me. God wants us to sit and listen to Him and others so that we can gather all information needed in a situation. We should not have an answer ready all the time when having a conversation. We should listen to hear and absorb. God does not want us to hurry through this life. I choose to not hurry moving forward because I don’t want to miss anything that God has for me or for what He has for someone else through me.
How can you “un-hurry” this week? ( leave a comment)

This was so good🙌🏼 It is easy to get caught up in the to-do list and not do what God designed us to do..We need to learn to .stop, listen and love!!
Amen Devinee 😇!!!
Very true. Something I have to constantly take into consideration because I always seem to rush against the clock forgetting that God is in control of the time. Slow down I tell myself.
Yes Daunte, let’s slow down👍🏾🙏🏾😇
Yes, I totally agree. Slowing down is of God and busyness is apart of the plan of the enemy to distract us.
Amen!!😇
