God, i ask for more wisdom daily.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5
There have been times when I have been in situations where is did not agree with another person and wanted to present all the facts that I knew was truth, but many times, God has prompted me to listen, gather all information, and then choose my words in my response. There have been many times when God has prompted me to not respond. While the process can be frustrating at the time, I have seen how this has de-escalated situations and brought about different outcomes where I am able to still communicate with the same people without offense. When I look at the way that the world communicates now, I see a lack a wisdom being used in many areas but when we ask for wisdom, we can have it.
Situations and event in our world has amplified lot of opinions from every direction. While social media is a tool that allows us to reach different parts of the world in an instant, it is important to recognize that whatever leaves our mouth (or text/message/post/email) can also reach different parts of the world in an instant, and there will always be a record of it. It has become very easy for people to just say what is on there minds in response to something with just the knowledge and/or perspective that they hold. Anyone can become offended in anything that is communicated with just the click of a button.
I’m just keeping it real!!!! I’m just keeping it real!!!!
Have you ever been a situation where you wanted to just “keep it real” or “give someone a piece of your mind”? I can admit that there have been times when I allowed myself to lose control and act in the flesh but the Bible teaches us that there are better ways to communicate. We should always speak the truth. In knowing this, just because a person knows the truth about something does not mean that they do not need to use wisdom in communicating that truth. Navigating this life is not easy and there has been times when I thought I knew the right way to solve a problem, or a time when I thought I was all alone in deciding, but this was not true. I could always use a reminder to think before I speak and the book of James does this. When it doubt, just read this verse over and over again. This is another reminder of how the Bible reminds us that God is always with us and gives us instruction on how the “check ourselves”.
Understand this, my dear brother’s and sister’s: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. James 1:19 NLT
Just Chill!!!! …and let God do the rest.
In what situations have you needed to use more wisdom this week?
